Dave is Group Head and Senior Vice President of the Wealth Management division at First National Bank. Serving both individual and institutional clients, Wealth Management serves as a trusted partner for building a successful and simplified financial life. The team consists of financial advisors, investment managers, trust professionals, private banking specialists, and capital markets, college savings, and retirement plan professionals – all with deep understanding of the industry and the needs of their clients. The Wealth division includes First National Bank’s Wealth Management, Investments & Planning and Tributary Capital Management businesses.

A banker since 1979, Dave has worked in a variety of capacities and locations including Michigan, Ohio, Kansas City and, since 2017, in Omaha. Dave earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business from Michigan State University and his Master’s Degree in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution from Creighton University.

Dave and his wife, Terie, have 3 adult children spread out from Kansas City to Cleveland to Boston…and one spoiled grandson!

Dave enjoys a lot of different activities, but golf is by far his favorite. It’s fun and challenging (and frustrating)! One day he hopes to play a round of golf at St. Andrews Old Course in Scotland. He also enjoys relaxing with a good book about behavioral economics. Malcom Gladwell and Michael Lewis are among some of his favorite authors.

Dave gives back to his communities by donating his time, energy and ideas. By making a small difference, it can then be multiplied. No matter what city Dave is living in, he embraces its unique culture and energy and finds the best cities are those with a prevailing attitude that “the glass is half full.”

He has served on many not-for-profit boards in Ohio and Kansas City. Before his move to Omaha, he was involved with the Civic Council (KC Tomorrow program advisor and Investment committee member), the Mission Project (serving adults with developmental disabilities), St. Luke’s South Hospital board as well as the Kansas Leadership Center (faculty; educating people to make a real difference on their big, important issues).

“Simply put, what we do matters. Our clients appreciate what we do for them, and that makes me feel proud to work for First National bank.”
